Paper Willow specialises in hand-drawn, hand-painted wedding stationery and high quality graphic design. We offer a full range of stationery including invitations, RSVP cards, Order of service cards and menu cards.

Many of our designs include simple maps using our bank of hand-drawn icons. We also like to add personal touches like hand-drawn sketches of wedding venues. Paper Willow also offer hand-made envelope liners.

We at Paper Willow are hugely passionate about wedding stationery and graphic design but what we really love is working with customers. We have very high standards of customer service and really love working with brides and grooms to create their dream wedding invitations. - P R I C I N G -

With Paper Willow you have the option of ordering fully printed stationery or a digital file of a fully personalised design suitable for printing yourself.

For printed stationery most design costs are covered by the price. Our prices are based on quantities ordered. This is because design and printing costs become lower as we divide the costs across more cards. This means that the price for 20 invitation cards will be more per card than for 100 invitation cards.

We have a minimum order of 10 printed invitations.


Envelope liners are available to match each invitation design. We charge extra for these because they are expensive and labour intensive to make by hand. We think they look lovely though and if your budget stretches to them they are a lovely addition to your wedding stationery.

Envelope liners for A6 envelopes are £0.85 each.
Envelope liners for A5 or DL envelopes are £0.95 each.

- L A N G U A G E S -

We are happy to change the text in our invitations to different languages. The only limitations are if the font we have chosen in the design does not contain all of the language-specific characters you need. We can often use an alternative font. Please get in touch if you’d like us to do this.


- O R D E R I N G -

To place an order you will need to purchase your stationery using this link. Please select the number you require from the drop-down menu. Please get in touch if you are not sure or cannot find exactly what you are looking for.

When you have placed your order we will need you to give us the text and information we need to complete your design. You will have the option to give us this at the time of ordering by writing in ‘note to Paper Willow’ the text you would like. Alternatively you can let us know in a message on Etsy or you may email us your text to contact [!at] If you are not sure what information to give us please get in touch and we will help you. Our designs are generally very flexible so don’t feel you have to include the sections you see on our examples.

It’s helpful to us at this stage if the information you give us is correct (exact wording, spellings etc). If you have ordered a simple map it is helpful to us if you could let us know what you think should be included. Bear in mind that some of the maps need to fit into quite small spaces so simple is often best. We like to include key things that will help your guests as well as a few cute icons from our bank of pictures like buildings and trees if we can.


- D I G I T A L P R O O F S -

We understand that you might make mistakes in the information you give us. Don’t worry, when we have completed your design we will send you a digital proof to check through. It’s very important (especially if you have ordered printed stationery) to check through this proof very carefully as once you have a approved your design we will start manufacturing meaning that changes are no longer possible. We allow for 2 rounds of changes to text (so you can change and correct spellings etc). If there are things you'd like changing about the design beyond the text, please discuss this with us at the beginning so that we get these done at the start. Alternatively you can buy extra design time and we can spend more time altering your design.

We will aim to get your digital proof to you within 5 business days and any revisions requested within 2 business days. In most cases this will be much faster. Please let us know if you are in a rush.


- A P P R O V A L S -

Before we print your order we will need you to confirm to us via a message that you approve the design. We are not responsible for any spelling or or layout errors so please take time to read through your proof very carefully and ask us for changes before approving your design. It’s a good idea to get someone else to look at your proof; sometimes it’s easier for someone who has never seen a design to spot the mistakes!

We want you to be really happy with your invitations so we are happy to make corrections to your design. Please just ask us if you need changes.


- M A N U F A C T U R I N G -

Once you have approved your design your stationery will be printed and finished professionally. Your invitations may take a little longer if they are hand-tied or require their corners to be trimmed. Envelope liners are made by hand so can add a few days to your order. This stage usually takes 1-3 weeks.


- D E L I V E R Y -

To addresses in the UK shipping is charged at £15.99 for standard sized printed orders. This covers the cost of sending you your parcel using Special Delivery which we’ve found is safest way of getting your order to you.

To addresses in the US shipping is charged at £36 for standard sized printed orders. This covers shipping with DHL.

We can send our stationery around the world; we like to get accurate shipping quotes based on weight so that you get the best possible shipping price. If you are not in the UK or the US please get in touch letting us know how many invitations you are looking to buy (because this affects the weight) and your address and we will get back to you with a shipping quote.

Custom and personalised orders

Apart from the pre-made packs of cards all designs can be personalised. In most cases all text can be changed and in many cases colours, pictures, layout etc can be personalised to suit you. Where considerable extra design time is required extra design charges will apply.

When you have placed an order you will be asked to complete an online form with all of your text and the information required to personalise the design. It is important to give correct information and any design changes at the start of the process.

How do I place an order?

To place an order, find the listing (page) with your chosen design.

To the left of the picture select from the options in the drop-down boxes; eg 'Passport Booklet', 'Envelope Liner'. Select the quantity you require of that piece and 'Add to cart'

You will need to go back to the listing to add additional things if needed.

To add a map to your design you will need to select 'Add map design' from the drop-down box and 'quantity: 1' and any venue paintings you would like to be on your map.

Once your order is placed you will be emailed a confirmation that will include links to the online forms where you can enter your wedding stationery information.

How long will it take to complete my customised order?

Most customised orders are completed in 3 weeks or less however at busy times of year orders can take slightly longer. The length of time to complete an order is also dependant on how complex your order is. Large orders or orders with a lot of finishing (e.g. envelope liners) can take longer.

If you do not provide final information and text this will delay your order. Customers are responsible for providing their information in a timely manner; Paper Willow cannot be held accountable for delays caused by text/ information delays.

If you are in a huge hurry to get your stationery please select 'Rush My Order' at the checkout. This will make you a priority order. In most cases 'Rush My Order' orders are completed in under a week.

Will I receive a proof (picture) of my stationery before it is made?

Yes. We don't make any customised stationery without your full and final approval.

Once we get your final text and information via the online form we will create your design and will send you a picture of it using Etsy messaging. This is your chance to carefully read through the text to check for errors. If you need changes we ask that you detail them in a message back to us. We will make the changes and will send you another picture for checking.

Please note, this service is for correcting things like spelling mistakes, missing words and inaccuracies it is not for re-writing large sections of text or complete re-workings of designs and layouts. Further design work is charged at £40 per hour on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis.

Can the pictures on the designs be changed for me?

Lots of our designs involve hand-drawn pictures (for example within the travel and woodland / festival designs. We have lots extra pictures of plants / animals objects that we've already drawn so in many cases we can change / replace pictures if we have them.

If you require a picture adding / changing that we don't already have they can usually be drawn specially for you at a cost of £40 per picture.

Just ask if you're not sure! We can usually accommodate all requests.

Can I order a sample?

Yes. Samples can be purchased by selecting 'Sample Invite' from the drop-down menus on the listings.

Samples are an example invitation showing you how the design could look. It's a chance to check the quality of the print and materials used.

Most people are happy to see a sample with example text. If you need to see a sample with your text and information please get in touch; it can be done but will be more expensive than a standard sample because the cost of the design time has to be included in the price.

Can you change a design to a different language?

Usually yes. There are some languages (eg Cyrillic) that are not fully supported by all of the fonts used. We might ask you to supply us with a section of text to test with your chosen design so that we can see whether all of the characters appear correctly in the fonts used. In many cases alternative fonts can be found.

Are there discounts available for ordering larger amounts?

Please contact us if you are looking to place a very large order. Depending on the amount of work involved we may be able to offer discounts.

I placed an order for customised stationery or sent you a message. When can I expect a response?

If you have placed an order you should have received a confirmation email with the links to the online forms where you can enter your text and information. Depending on how busy it is there may be a short wait of a few days to receive your proof.

Our normal working hours are Monday - Thursday 9am - 3pm UK time which is when most messages will be dealt with.

We do not normally answer messages during the night or on weekends and UK bank holidays.

Please be patient if you do not receive a reply straight away; we are a small company working around a young family. We offer a high quality, very personalised service and we don't have a large team of people answering emails.

Can you create a design specially for me?

Yes we probably can. Please send us a message giving us as much detail as you can about the design you want including how sets you would be looking to order and whether you have a budget we would need to stick to. Generally with custom design we operate a 'pay-as-you-go' service of £40 per hour for design work. Most of our designs have required at least 10 hours of design work to set up.
